Dr. David Vito - Optometrist

Dr. David Vito graduated from LaSalle Academy and Providence College before receiving a Doctorate in Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in Boston.  Graduation honors include the Alumni Association Award for academic achievement and the American Optometric Foundation’s Award for publishing an original investigative paper in a national publication.

In addition to maintaining a general optometric practice, Dr. Vito has devoted much of his career to assisting those who are blind and visually impaired, serving as a consultant for several state and private organizations.  Throughout the years, he has received several awards and recognitions for his work in Low Vision.

Dr. Vito  has held numerous leadership positions in both professional and community organizations.  He is President of IN-SIGHT Board of Directors.  IN-SIGHT is one of the largest rehabilitation agencies in the United States serving the blind community.  He has also been elected President of the Rhode Island Optometric Association, President of the New England College of Optometry Alumni Association, and was appointed to the Board of Trustees of the New England College of Optometry.  Dr. Vito has published numerous articles and lectured at many professional meetings.

Dr. Vito is certified by the national Board of Examiners in Optometry to practice comprehensive optometry, including the use of diagnostic and therapeutic agents for the treatment and management of ocular disease.  He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Rhode Island Optometric Association.
