Dr. Matthew Doyle’s college career began at the University of New England in Biddeford, ME where he graduated with a B.S. in Medical Biology. He then went on to graduate with a Doctorate of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. He completed his externships in primary care optometry at Martha Elliot Community Health Center in Jamaica Plain, MA and Newport Naval Health Clinic in Newport, RI. Additionally, he completed diverse ocular disease training at the Dorchester Health Center in Dorchester, MA and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Northampton, MA.
Dr. Doyle is board certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and licensed in the state of Rhode Island in ocular therapeutics and treatment of glaucoma. He treats eye infections, glaucoma, and injuries of the eye, as well as providing pre and post operative care for LASIK and cataract surgeries. Practicing in Providence for the last three years and previously practicing in southern Maine, he provides comprehensive eye health exams, contact lens fittings, and glasses prescriptions.
Needing glasses in his early elementary years, Dr. Doyle first became interested in optometry at a very young age. Knowing what it is like to not be able to see without visual aid, Dr. Doyle has a dedicated compassion, relishing the ability to provide an immediate impact on the lives of his patients on a daily basis. When he is not in the office, he enjoys reading, exercising, being outdoors, and spending time with his family.
