Children frequently require different types of testing equipment and are prone to different types of problems than adults. Eye conditions such as amblyopia start in childhood and can leave lifelong vision problems if not corrected. In addition to blurry vision, problems with eye tracking, eye coordination, and focusing can also have a dramatic effect on a child’s ability to do well in school. Advanced Eye Care Associates proudly donates time each month to screening students at Providence schools because we know how important vision is to children’s learning.
And while vision screenings done at a child’s school or the pediatricians office are effective at revealing some potential eye problems, they are not as effective as a comprehensive eye examination.
We are members of Infantsee – an infant eye assessment public health program.
